Not long ago, I read an article in the “Creativity in Therapy” blog called “Create a Sensory Self-Soothing Kit” by art therapist Carolyn Mehlomakulu.
The idea was that a box filled with items that engage your five senses is an excellent tool for being grounded when you need centering or self-care.
The recommendations were for any five things that appeal to the senses of touch, sight, hearing, taste and smell. I tried the exercise and came up with the following: Touch: plush animal.
