A lot of my posts are directed toward people experiencing mental illness or troubles with their mental health, but today I want to talk to a slightly different group of people: our loved ones.
It can be really hard to watch someone you love experience mental illness. You would do anything to make them feel better, but most of the time, it just doesn’t work that way.
It can also be very confusing, loving someone with mental illness, especially if you don’t have a mental illness yourself. My husband has told me that one of his biggest frustrations is when he can tell something is wrong, but no matter how many times he asks, no matter how many different ways, I won’t talk about it.
