Caregiver burnout is real. ⠀ This was hard for me to share, but I always said I would share the good, the bad, and the ugly, and if it helps one other person know that they are not alone, then it’s worth it. ⠀Being a caregiver can be extremely lonesome, even with a spouse.
Your schedule revolves around therapy, medications, doctor appointments, follow-up calls, and so many other things that are all for someone else.
They become your priority, and it is easy to lose yourself in caring for them, and you forget to take care of yourself. ⠀ The past few months, I have been a shell of a person with only bits and pieces of “me” floating around.
