As an adult who grew up in an abusive environment or just overall a toxic one, many people will urge you to reconcile with your parent(s) but you don’t have to.
For some reason, a lot of people seem to think that even though someone’s parents hurt them in such a way that they still need to try and have some kind of relationship with them.
I am here to tell you that if you suffered any kind of abuse as a child and you don’t want to try to have a relationship with your parent(s), you do not have to.
