I came home from school, and I lay down on the sofa. At 8 years old nobody thought this was odd. I was told to go to my bed, which I did, and the pattern began.
I was exhausted after school each day, so I would go home and crawl into bed for an hour before dinner. I was taken to the doctor by my mother, not about the tiredness, but about my aching knees and elbows.
The doctor told my mother it was nothing to worry about, just growing pains. After I moved to high school, the long walk to school exhausted me before the day had even started.
