Study: Family Mindfulness Based Intervention Benefits Parents of Children with ADHD

May 28, 2021Parents of children with ADHD experienced improvements in over-reactivity, impulsivity, self-compassion, and overall mental health after participating in an 8-week, family mindfulness based intervention (MBI) called MYmind, according to a study published in the Journal of Child Psychiatry and Psychology.1Participants with ADHD, ages 8 to 16 years, were divided into two groups: 48 received care as usual (CAU) and 55 also participated in MYmind sessions for 90 minutes once a week with at least one parent.
