RAND Corporation conducted surveys of public school teachers, principals, and other working adults in January 2022. 2,360 teachers and 1,540 principals who work in kindergarten through 12th-grade public schools participated in the research.The nonprofit research organization asked questions about five aspects of well-being in the survey.
These included frequency of job-related stress, ability to cope with stress, burnout, depression symptoms, and resilience to distressing situations.
ADVERTISEMENT About half of the teachers surveyed said their primary source of stress included addressing students’ interrupted learning during the pandemic.
