Possessed She sat at the top of the stairs, waiting for her parents to stop arguing. Their voices had become a sound, rather than words and she didn’t care what they were saying anymore.
With her rain boots and coat already on, she headed down the stairs, and straight out the front door. She slammed it behind her, with a sigh of relief that she was finally outside the walls of her worst heartache.
She looked up from her boots, still standing on the front doorstep. A walk was better than anything that was on the other side of that door.
