Here I talk pure pleasure. These are some of the world’s most beautiful, easy to grow, and otherwise desirable plants. Your local nurseries may be closed, so for each, I list a mail-order source.

Tamukeyama Japanese Maple. Few plants stand the test of even 10 years time. Tamukeyama has done so for more than 300 years. It is a compact, deep red, lace-leafed, slow-growing variety that’s three-season gorgeous: In the fall, the deep red leaves, as in the photo, turn brighter.
