There has been nothing harder in my life than watching you suffer. You are 13 and shouldn’t know how this feels. I don’t know what’s wrong or how to fix it.

I don’t know how to help you. My hugs don’t seem to be the answer anymore when that was all you used to need. You’re in such a deep and desperate place inside your own head that I don’t know how to save you from yourself.

The answer to everything is “I don’t know” or “I’m fine,” which we both know is a lie. There is a dullness to your eyes that were once so bright.
