Eighteen months ago, I did not know much about school phobia. It was one of those things which cropped up, occasionally, on morning T.V.
shows. Always involving nameless, faceless statistics. No one in our area had it, it just didn’t happen around here.In September 1993, we had a 10 year old daughter, Jo, who was in her last year of primary education and a 9 year old son, Ian, who had just moved into the same class to complete his last two years.
Jo thoroughly enjoyed the whole process of learning, and hated missing school. Ian, on the other hand, had not been happy at school for a while.
