When the COVID-19 pandemic hit, the focus was largely on its deadly nature for people over the age of 65. And rightly so — the most serious cases and deaths occur among this population.
However, as experts learn more about the virus, it’s become clear that COVID-19 can affect people of all ages in a variety of ways — some deadly.
Most recently, a 5-year-old boy in New York died from pediatric multisystem inflammatory syndrome, a rare disease occurring in children that doctors believe is linked to COVID-19.
