Dear estranged parent, You keep telling me that you have no idea why your son or daughter has cut you out of their life. You repeatedly tell me that you are a wonderful mother or father and did everything to give them a good life growing up.

You don’t understand why your son or daughter won’t call you to talk or has asked you repeatedly not to show up at their door unannounced.

You feel hurt that your estranged son or daughter won’t let you have a relationship with your grandkids. When you describe your adult child, you might use the words “ungrateful, self-centered, spoiled brat.” Maybe you even talk about their flaws or the mistakes they made as children, teens, or young adults and explain to me how hard they were to parent or love.
