Dealing With the Uninvited Guest of Intrusive Thoughts

One of my symptoms from the combination of ADHD and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is intrusive thoughts. The categories vary, but the example I will use is the constant thought that everyone I love is going to hurt me.

These thoughts can range from a hurt fueled by intention (purposely leaving me, disrespecting me, physically harming me) or unintentional/accidental harm (meeting someone else and falling for them, deciding one day they don’t love me anymore).
