I have had a working diagnosis of bipolar disorder for many years now. I have also dealt with depression for many years on and off, which I guess plays into the bipolar diagnosis.
I have tried many SSRIS, many failed, because they “did not work for me.” SSRIS (selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors, taken for depression or anxiety) and bipolar do not go together.
SSRIS can make a bipolar person manic or go into hypomania or have an elevated mood state and experience symptoms of their disorder.
