The novella, A River Runs Through It, was published in 1976 and is a semi-autobiographical coming of age story. Norman Maclean recounts the tale of two brothers with differing views on life.
Their father is a Presbyterian minister, and one brother follows in his religious footsteps while the other is more studious.
