I have heard depression described as an angry black shadow that follows you wherever you go — and this is a description I agree with wholeheartedly.
I mean, if you take a second to think about it, it just makes sense. You are forever in its presence, constantly aware of it, but not often within its dark embrace.
You feel it creeping away at the edge of your consciousness, but everytime you turn to look at it, it disappears into nothingness.
