Back in 2020, it was announced that Shia Labeouf would be leaving the film. His agency said it was due to scheduling conflicts.

Wilde mentioned that his process just wasn’t conducive to creating a proper environment to work in, especially given the vulnerability that would be needed of Pugh in her role.
